About

I graduated from the University of York in 2022 with a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry. As my final year project, I thoroughly enjoyed investigating the public understanding of musculoskeletal diseases. Following this, I worked as an Assistant Scientist at the Food and Environment Research Agency (Fera), where I used techniques such as UHPLC-MS and SPE to analyse contaminants in food packaging and water samples.

I joined the team in Newcastle as a Research Technician in August 2023, and split my time between NFRG and the transplant team based at the Centre for Life. At NFRG, I arrange the collection of human organs assigned for research for the projects here. At the Centre for Life, I assist in a variety of ex vivo perfusion experiments – examples of which include optimisation of storage conditions for future organs assigned for transplant, and for pre-clinical drug studies.
