About

I graduated from Sunderland University in 2018 with a first class BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science. After thoroughly enjoying my dissertation project ‘investigating genes involved in chemotherapy induced neurotoxicity in childhood leukaemia’ I decided to further my research knowledge by completing an MRes in Cancer Research at Newcastle University.

My master’s project investigated the role of glycosylation enzymes in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer and allowed me to expand my practical skills, covering an array of laboratory techniques. Having enjoyed the focus of my master’s degree being research, I decided to apply for a research technician role here at the NFRG.

My current research project within the group surrounds unlocking intracellular fibrogenic signalling for therapeutic intervention in chronic liver disease.
