Role: Lab Technician

About

I graduated from Durham University in 2015 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Biomedical Science during which I completed a project entitled ‘Acridine Orange still has roles alongside modern fluorescent probes for visualising lysosomes during autophagy in response to ER stress’. During my degree I developed practical experience in many techniques such as Western blotting, cell culturing and FACS analysis.

In January 2016 I took up the role of Research Technician here in the Newcastle Fibrosis Research Group, working primarily with precision cut tissue slicing as part of a collaboration that the lab has with GSK.
