About

I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Genetics from Newcastle University in 2016. During my degree, I thoroughly enjoyed my project - “Validating genomic rearrangements that occur within the immunoglobin loci in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia”, which I completed in the Northern Institute for Cancer Research. Seeing a project evolve over time was one of the reasons I was excited to start working for the Newcastle Fibrosis Research Group as a Research Technician in July 2016.

I work closely with my colleague Hannah Paish on the AbbVie grant, under the supervision of Professors Jelena Mann and Fiona Oakley, and Dr. Lee Borthwick. We are using Precision Cut Liver Slices as a model to study Liver Disease.

I have learned a wide variety of molecular and cell culture techniques since joining, and look forward to developing my skills further in the future.
