Calcium

Calcium is a key structural element within the human body, and 99% of total calcium within the body is found in bones and teeth. Calcium deficiency is associated with osteoporosis, strokes and insulin resistance.

WHO Limit:

Excessive calcium in drinking-water is associated with the hardness and is not of health concern at levels normally observed. However, the taste threshold for the calcium ion is between 100-300mg/l

Symptoms of Calcium Contamination:

There is little evidence of negative health effects associated with the consumption of calcium with food; however, consumption of supplements in excess of 2500mg/day, when not ingested with food can increase the risk of developing kidney stones.
