Aluminium is commonly used in various industries such as construction and production. Aluminium is used in water treatment in the form of aluminium salts in the coagulation process; this can lead to increased concentrations in the finished water.

Symptoms of Aluminium Contamination

Complaints regarding taste and discoloration of water due to excessive aluminium content occur in concentrations between 0.1 and 0.2mg/l. There is insufficient evidence to suggest detrimental health effects due to the levels of aluminium likely to be found in drinking water.
