UNIVERSITIES IN REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT (UNIREG)

A project funded by the EU Targeted Socio-Economic Research Programme (TSER)

JANUARY 1999 TO DECEMBER 2000

UNIREG is a collaborative research project involving seven European research centres funded by the TSER programme, plus one Australian partner funded by the Australian Government. The project emerged from earlier work by CURDS on Universities and Economic Development and from the EUNIT Research Network.

 The Regional Contribution of Higher Education

As a parallel project in the UK, we are working with the Higher Education Funding Council for England, the Committee of Vice Chancellors and Principals and consortia of higher education institutions in each region to develop a set of regional reports on the regional contribution of HE.
