Important discovery for Dr. Nick Kalson
NFRG celebrates Dr. Nick Kalson's article, published in the prestigious The Bone and Joint Journal:
The article, entitled ,,Quantification of intra-articular fibrosis in patients with stiff knee arthroplasties using metal-reduction MRI'' focuses on patients with stiff, painful knee arthroplasties
A research team coordinated by Dr Nick Kalson of the NFRG, which includes colleagues based in the Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Trust and at the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre of Leeds University, has determined that fibrosis in the knees of patients who have undergone total knee athroplasty (TKA) can be visualized by Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
This represents a major advance towards improved diagnosis of post-TKA fibrosis using a non-invasive tool.
