Congratulations for a new NFRG article

On January 14th, Newcastle Fibrosis Research Group had another brilliant article published in Scientific Reports, thanks to the collective work of Dr. Jack Leslie, Professor Fiona Oakley and Dr. Saimir Luli. The article is entitled:

"Non-invasive synchronous monitoring of neutrophil migration using whole body near-infrared fluorescence-based imaging"

Dr. Luli considers that ,,In vivo fluorescence imaging provides a dynamic tool for visualisation of biological process. However, deep tissue imaging in a whole live animal remains a challenge due to limiting factors such tissue depth and auto fluorescence. In this article we overcome some of these challenges and take advantage of near infrared cell labelling probes and standard optical imaging technology to develop a non-invasive monitoring of two different cell types in a mouse model of acute liver injury.
