About

I completed my undergraduate degree in Pharmacology in 2011 at University College Dublin, Ireland. In 2011 I was accepted into the Molecular Medicine Ireland Clinical and Translational Research Scholars program a unique cross-institutional PhD program. This PhD program included both taught and research components in addition to an industry placement at UCB pharma in Slough, UK.

My PhD project was completed under the supervision of Prof. Michael Keane at the Conway Institute, University College Dublin. My project focused on the role of the chemokine receptor CXCR3 in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and had a strong translational focus.

I joined the Fibrosis Research Group at Newcastle University in September 2015 as a Research Associate. This is a 3 year post funded by Arthritis Research UK and focuses on the role of a molecule called c-Rel in the production of scar tissue.
