Projects

Each Masters student works on a game-related project in the final semester of the course. The projects are often directly linked with our partners in the games industry, with some of the students working within the respective development studio, and others working in the Game Lab at Newcastle. The project topics cover a wide range, and can be suggested by the student, by the faculty, or by an industrial partner.

A multiplayer racing game was created by each team in 2013/2014, running on PC, PS3 and Android.

The 2013/2014 coursework for graphics and game technologies involved the creation of an island scene with day/night cycle and weather systems. All developed in C++ and OpenGL with no engines or middleware.

The team project for 2012/2013 was to create a physics-based ball-rolling game compiled across three platforms.

The 2012/2013 coursework for the graphics and technologies modules involved creating a UFO scene.
