Success for Alex Hallatt at EFMC-ASMC Symposium

The European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology supports all members of the medicinal chemistry and chemical biology community and one of its flagship events is the International Symposium on Advances in Synthetic and Medicinal Chemistry (EFMC-ASMC). On the back of this event is the Young Medicinal Chemists’ Symposium (EFMC-YMCS). The Young Scientists Network of the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry (EFMC-YSN) supports and promotes the development of early-career scientists in Europe, providing opportunities to network with their peers, participate in scientific events, and access educational and career development resources.

Final year PhD student, Alex Hallatt was chosen by the organisers to present his work at the 9th EFMC-ASMC and subsequently at the 10th EFMC-YMCS in Zagreb, Croatia. In addition, Alex was successful in being awarded a travel grant to attend the events in early-September.

At the poster session, Alex was delighted to see so much interest in his poster on PROTACs and glucose metabolism and was more than happy to talk to many other scientists about the fantastic research he has conducted over the course of his PhD. As a result, he was awarded a ‘Best Poster’ award by the judges.

Very well done Alex!
