Students

Undergraduates

Members of the Cell Division Biology group play important roles in delivering undergraduate teaching in life sciences, particularly related to the cell cycle, and undergraduate projects may be carried out in our laboratories. Find out about the range of degree programmes on offer in the School of Biomedical Sciences.

Vacation Studentships are also available for undergraduate students during the summer vacation prior to their final year of study.

MRes Studentships

One year Research Masters (MRes) degrees, which involve both taught courses and laboratory projects, are available. The MRes in Cell Signalling in Health and Disease is co-ordinated by Dr Jun-yong Huang of the Cell Division Biology Group, and includes taught elements on the cell cycle and chromatin and may involve projects in our laboratories. Other relevant MRes courses include Medical and Molecular Biosciences, Cancer, or Medical Genetics). These courses are part of a portfolio of MRes programmes within the Faculty of Medical Sciences

MRes courses can be taken either as a stand-alone one-year programme or as the first year of a four year integrated MRes/PhD studentship.

PhD Studentships

The laboratories within the Cell Division Biology group provide opportunities for postgraduate students to pursue projects at the forefront of knowledge, in a supportive environment, and with access to excellent facilities. PhD studentship funding is available through the UK Research Councils, the EU, charity or faculty funding.
