Objectives

One of today's societal challenges is to address the broad impact of our built environment on health, and especially on most vulnerable populations, such as the elderly, through active policies and multisectoral programs promoting healthier communities and cities. In previous work on urban health issues, we have identified experts and research groups generating important knowledge from different perspectives that would be interesting to engage in working groups of experts to establish a knowledge base necessary for decision and policy-making of urban health and active aging programs.

The objective of the URBHealthS programme is to inform and educate policy makers, planners and public health officials on the benefits of green infrastructure to health and well-being of the most vulnerable populations.
