Magomet Aushev obtained his BSc (Hons) in Biotechnology from Newcastle University, and then completed an MRes in Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine. He is now in his 3^rd year of PhD studies at Newcastle carrying out research for the development of ex vivo gene therapy for blistering skin diseases. 

Magomet was awarded the NESCI Research Day: Best Poster prize (2013), the Rene Touraine Foundation Fellowship (2014), and was shortlisted for SET for Britain 2014 to present a poster at the House of Commons.
