Dr Sharareh Tavaddod came from the School of Physics and Astromony at the University of Edinburg to talk to us about her work on bacterial aggregation.
Her work particularly focuses on aggregations that occur when cell densities are high and bacteria are exposed to low doses of antibiotics. Why they form clusters in these conditions and whether the clustering affects antibiotic resistance was discussed, though bacteria clustering to avoid toxicity seems unlikely based on the results of Sharerehs experiments.
We would like to thank Dr Tavaddod for her excellend talk.
