Repetitive Behaviours Questionnaire
The Repetitive Behaviours Questionnaire (RBQ) was originally created by Dr Michelle Turner of Durham University. Publications using the RBQ have used three versions:
1. An interview version asking parents about 50 different repetitive behaviours (eg South et al., 2005)
2. A questionnaire version with 33 items (eg Honey et al., 2012)
3. A short questionnaire with 20 items, the RBQ2 (Leekam et al., 2007)
The RBQ2 was developed using items from the RBQ and the Diagnostic Interview for Social and Communication Disorders (DISCO; Wing et al., 2002).
We are happy for researchers from other countries to contact us with a view to translating the RBQ for their own use. However, it is essential to maintain effective use of the tool and to enable the development of comparable research that can contribute to the field that there is only one validated translation per language – rather than multiple alternative translations in circulation.
