The overall objective is to provide a framework for an integrated solution that helps family-owned farms in China to better manage nutrient inputs without affecting the quantity or quality of production.
This integrated solution will be achieved by
(a) providing affordable technologies for high precision geo-referencing
(b) providing higher resolution and better quality environmental and soil information for farms
(c) developing methods for determining crop nutrient requirements through soil and crop sensing methods.
This will be complemented by training and knowledge transfer to all stakeholders (growers, service providers (agronomists/machinery) and government).
