CP Lab staff John Fitzgerald and Claire Ingram represented Newcastle at the ARTEMIS co-summit event in Berlin last week. ARTEMIS is an industrial assocation for CPS and embedded systems in Europe, and the co-summit is a great opportunity to hear about ongoing work in those areas. This year the theme was "Smart Industry: Impact of Software Innovation".
Claire and John collaborated with Peter Gorm Larsen of Aarhus University in Denmark, publicising two projects: COMPASS, which developed tools and techniques to support development of systems of systems (SoSs) and new project INTO-CPS, which will develop an integrated tool chain to support modelling and simulation of trustworthy CPS. The event was a great opportunity to raise the profile of Newcastle's research into CPS and the related field of systems of systems (SoS).
COMPASS has now completed but a club of practitioners and academics interested in the project will continue, whilst, as a new project, INTO-CPS is also running a group for interested parties to follow project progress.
