The project will be subject to ethical review by Newcastle University’s Ethical Review Board before any work commences. Informed consent will be required of all participants. The project will be undertaken in a non-judgemental way. We are aware of the stigma of Chemsex and associated illegal drug use, and of the potential vulnerabilities of participants. To address this (in addition to ethical board scrutiny), the project team will remain in regular contact with Newcastle City Council to ‘sense-check’ ethical issues should they arise.
