Our 3D-Secure investigation won the STAST'2018 Best Paper Award

Our work on the Investigation of the fraud detection model of the 3D-Secure Payment Authorization System won the STAST'2018 Best Paper Award. While the study was designed as a showcase for the use of evidence-based methods as pursued in WP4 Usable Security, this time, we trained our lens on a system security topic.

Our work was lauded for its rigorous evidence-based research process. Our approach included first filing a pre-registration before statistical inference is undertaken, ensuring reproducibility by offering a detailed specification of the operationalization, publishing the dataset at the open science framework, and weaving the statistics, graphs and tables into the LaTeX paper with the R package knitr.
