Postgraduate workshops

The Psychological Therapies Training and Research Clinic is running a four-part workshop series to support post graduate students with the mental and emotional demands of postgraduate study. If you are bothered by worry, uncertainty, or self-critical thoughts, or are managing setbacks in your studies, you are not alone. These workshops have been designed for you to help develop and practice skills to manage the emotional challenges common in postgraduate life. We would love to see you join us at a workshop!

The sessions involve four weekly 90 minute sessions and introduce evidence based strategies, which are based on cognitive behavioural therapy techniques, to support you in managing your stressors more effectively. The workshops are a great space to speak to other post-graduate students, learn skills and techniques that may relieve some of your anxieties and introduce new ways of approaching your problems.

To book your space on the next workshop series, please head to: Workshops (ncl.ac.uk)

Please note as part of the evaluation of these workshops you will be required to fill in an anonymised questionnaire about how you are feeling prior to the first workshop and following the last workshop, which usually takes about five minutes. We will also ask you fill this in again 4 weeks after the workshops to help us understand how our workshops are helping you.

The number of students for each round of workshops is capped at 16. If you are unable to get a space on this series of workshops please look out for a future workshop series.

Before signing up we encourage you watch this short clip: https://youtu.be/MtqaCKZKId8 which provides a comprehensive summary of the workshop overview, to help you decide if these workshops are for you.
