Autophagic approaches to prevent fatty liver disease

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NALFD) is the most frequent liver pathology in western countries. Recent studies have revealed that autophagy is involved in lipid droplet degradation and, therefore, may be crucial to avoid lipid accumulation. This project aims to understand how autophagy can be modulated in order to prevent fatty liver disease.
