DM Paper Gut TREM2

New NFRG Paper in Gut

Resulting from a cooperative research between NFRG, the Donostia University Hospital of the University of the Basque Country (Spain), and the Medical University of Viena (Austria), a new paper has been published in Gut, the prestigious leading international journal in gastroenterology and hepatology. Partly funded by the Wellcome Trust, the FP7 scheme of the European Commission, the Medical Research Council and Cancer Research UK, this new publication is entitled:

Non-parenchymal TREM-2 protects the liver from immune-mediated hepatocellular damage

Thanks to the obtained results developed in the paper, it is now thought that strategies that aim to therapeutically activate the triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM-2) may provide a novel route towards suppressing inflammation caused by toxin-induced hepatocellular injuries.
