SleepyHeads Phase 2
Phase 2: Investigating the Role of Sleep in Speech and Language Development in Children with Cleft Lip and Palate – a Feasibility Study
This study is funded by CLEFT Bridging the Gap (CLEFT). It will run from August 2026 to February 2028. This phase of the SleepyHeads study explores the role of sleep in speech and language development in children with cleft lip and/or palate, focusing on whether differences in sleep help explain why some children experience more communication difficulties than others. As a feasibility study, it will determine the best methods, age groups, and participant groups for a future national longitudinal study of sleep and developmental outcomes in cleft (phase 3).
