Safety Procedures

1. DBS Checks

DBS stands for The Disclosure and Barring Service, and its role is to help employers make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children. Researchers working with children are required to undergo a full DBS background check before receiving approval from the RB Steering Committee. Additional information about the DBS can be found HERE.

2. School Regulations

Researchers will coordinate with teachers and staff to ensure that all school rules and safety procedures are followed by researchers while on school premises and interacting with pupils.

3. Parental Approval

All pupil participation in research sessions is strictly subject to the approval of their parents or guardians. Please see the "For Parents" section of this website for more information.
