Professor Graham Smith

Professor Graham Smith has been the principal investigator on five major grants and co-investigator on five others. Funders have included research councils and charities and the National Health Service. He also led a strand  (involving five interlocking projects) in the Changing Families, Changing Food research programme at Royal Holloway and Sheffield.

Graham is an internationally respected oral historian. He has worked in community and academic oral history and has a long interest in the oral history of medicine and medical humanities more broadly.  He has worked in China, Pakistan, and across the UK. He has also worked with the Roma community in London and the Ukrainian community in Bradford.

Graham's wide-ranging career has covered labour, family, migration and medical humanities, always with a focus on work that is public and community-facing.
