  • Silvie's extensive experience includes using oral history in community and cultural development work, historical interpretation and heritage engagement.

Silvie is the founder and director of Northern Cultural Projects, a community history and cultural organisation. She passionately believes in the power of culture to enhance the quality of life of vulnerable and disadvantaged people and communities. 

Silvie has an Master’s Degrees in Cultural Anthropology / European Ethnology, German Linguistics and Literature. She holds an NVQ 5 in Operational Management, a Level 3 Award in Education and Training and operates as an Arts Award Adviser for all levels.

Silvie has developed and managed local, regional and national projects, and worked with many organisations to benefit a wide range of audiences. Silvie is an experienced content editor for both print and electronic media, has worked as a journalist and is a published writer of fiction and non-fiction.

Silvie has developed and managed local, regional and national projects, and worked with many organisations to benefit a wide range of audiences. Her employment history in the UK included Information and Project Management in disability arts, heritage project co-ordination at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care (NCCC), and heritage volunteer coordination for the Ouseburn Trust.
