North East SLT Research Network
**Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we are NOT meeting together in Newcastle for the Symposium on 1st July.
We will reschedule at a suitable time – most likely in 2021.
Thank you so much to everyone who submitted abstracts for the Symposium. The standard was extremely high. We want to recognise the work that has gone into this, so we are showcasing all accepted abstracts on our Symposium page.
Please do get in touch on email@example.com if you have any questions. We wish you all the best in these uncertain times, and we very much look forward to seeing you again in the future!**
The North East SLT Research Network is the first specialist support group for SLTs engaging in research in the UK, established over a decade ago. It is affiliated to the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and has close links with Speech and Language Sciences at Newcastle University. Its aim is to engage SLTs at all levels of the research continuum, from research-conscious to research-active.
The Research Network organises annual events to promote and support research activity amongst SLTs in the North East. These are the Symposium and the Research Update Meeting, which alternate each year. The Symposium is an opportunity for SLTs to present research in process or completed. The Research Update Meeting provides practical training and workshops on all aspects of research, from development ideas to writing for publication.
The Research Network links with other SLT Clinical Excellence Networks in the North East to form the RCSLT North East Regional Hub, to support evidence-based interventions in all areas of speech and language therapy, as well as the conduct of research in practice.
