The figures below compare various input materials for NanoString assays. Based on the R value of over 0.97, there is a clear indication that fresh-frozen tissue (RIN = 6.2) and FFPE material (RIN = 2.2) perform equally well on the NanoString platform. Gene expression from 10,000 lysed cells isolated by FACS was found to be comparable to RNA extracted from an equvalent number of cells, as indicated by an R value of over 0.99.
