The project is made possible by a donation from Reality Labs, a business and research unit of Meta Platforms, that produces virtual reality and augmented reality hardware and software.

Reality Labs has been exploring neuromotor signals for human-computer interaction (HCI) through the development of surface electromyography (sEMG) wristbands and control algorithms. This project was part of a call for research proposals, to foster innovation in this area and to deepen their collaboration with academia.
