Latest News - Cohort 2 Projects are now live - deadline 1st December 2023

We are really glad you are considering the Marine Zero Doctoral programme for your next step. Please read the application and eligibility information below before applying for the programme.

Application Options

There are two options available for applicants:

  • Option 1: apply to one or more specified projects (some sponsored by industry) advertised here and via other portals such as findaphd.com. These projects will be competitively advertised with stated deadlines and will likely require you to attend for an interview (online or in-person) should you be shortlisted.
  • Option 2: the applicant to produce their own project idea centred around a Marine Zero technical theme (supervised by an academic within the topic area). If considering this route you should contact a suitable academic from our team to discuss your project idea in the first instance. Funding of your project is not guaranteed and will be subject to review by the doctoral programme committee.

All funded projects usually include tuition fees, stipend and travel/consumables budget (UK students) or tuition fees and travel/consumables budget (international students). International students will also have opportunities to apply for further scholarships to assist with living expenses.
