Using MAXQDA to support the analysis of qualitative data
- Venue: Teams
- Start: Wed, 17 Jul 2024 10:52:00 BST
- End: Wed, 17 Jul 2024 10:52:00 BST
This session of the Data and Methods Group will focus on analysis of qualitative data The session will be opened by Mark Adley who will
provide an overview of some of the features of the MAXQDA software programme, and how these can support a literature review.
Newcastle University currently does not have a site licence for this software, creating a bias towards our only currently licensed qualitative
analysis software, Nvivo.
There will be an opportunity for questions and a broader discussion around the various approaches we use to interact and engage with data while developing our analysis.
Mark Adley is an early career researcher who is reaching the end of an NIHR funded PhD in which he collected just under 70 hours of qualitative data. He found MAXQDA invaluable both in helping to keep this organised, and when carrying out the study’s scoping review.
While MAXQDA has some powerful mixed methods tools, this overview will focus on the scoping review, and how the software’s tools helped him to improve his analytical processes.
