The Newcastle Technology Assessment Review Group produces Technology Assessment Reviews (TARs) for the NIHR. These provide timely, evidence-based guidance to the NHS and the care sector on the adoption and use of technologies, incorporating the opinions of stakeholders.

The Newcastle TAR Group is a member of InterTASC, the hub for the groups providing independent health technology assessment for NICE Technology Appraisals and other processes: https://www.intertasc.org.uk/. 

The Newcastle TAR Group is a collaboration of the Health Economics Group and the Evidence Synthesis Groups within the Population Health Sciences Institute‌. Prof Luke Vale is the director of the Newcastle TAR Group, Steve Rice manages the TAR team, and Prof Dawn Teare and Prof Dawn Craig complete the Oversight Group for the TAR contract.
