The Health Economics Group
Please note: the Health Economics Group Webpages are under development
The Health Economics Group (HEG) conducts leading research across a range of policy areas seeking to improve the allocation of scarce health and social care resources. Our research informs the provision of health and social care in the UK and internationally.
Our work is especially focused on valuing benefits for health and health care; development and application of economic evaluation and econometric applications in studies of health and social care. This focus aligns with our two main research themes:
• Economic Evaluation and Outcome Valuation (EEOV)
• Newcastle University Microeconometrics Group (NUtMeG)
We work extensively to train the next generation of health economists, via our internships and PhDs, and for colleagues elsewhere in academia, health and social care and Government.
