The aim of the project is to identify how regional educational institutions, employers, and policymakers can better align education and training provision with the skills required for emerging local green sectors. Through quantitative analysis of education and training data, the project assesses the alignment between local education and training and the needs of emerging green industries. Meanwhile, qualitative regional case studies investigate how skills providers, employers, and other local stakeholders identify skills needs, adapt existing provision, and engage with prospective and current learners. The project will identify good practice, as well as ways to improve the functioning of local skills ecosystems to both improve the alignment of skills provision to the needs of the local economy and ensure that the growth of green and net zero jobs is inclusive to local young people.
