Dr Jade Hawksworth

Dr Jade Hawksworth is a post-doctoral research associate who is researching sphingolipids in Lewy body dementia. Jade brings a wealth of experience in -omics technologies, including lipidomics and proteomics, which she is combining with conventional neurohistology approaches to try and understand why alpha-synuclein aggregates in LBD and how this links with known risk genes. Jade combines traditional histological and molecular analysis of human post-mortem brain tissue with advanced pipelines to examine changes in protein and lipid networks to better understand how they are affected in LBD. Jade is using observations from human post-mortem tissue in vitro to explore how these could contribute to Lewy body formation in LBD.
