BBC Tiny Happy People Videos
BBC Tiny Happy People and ELIM-I
To support practitioners to deliver ELIM-I intervention with families we have collaborated with the team at Tiny Happy People to develop a suite of Super Communicator videos that demonstrate each of the 9 Super Communicator tips to parents/carers.
There is 1 overall Super Communicator video that demonstrates the concept of being a Super Communicator, and each of the 9 Super Communicator tips has a number of different supporting videos that model the tip being used by parents/carers across different daily routines with their child.
The video variations for each tip are designed to support flexible and tailored delivery of the ELIM-I intervention with families, for example, to help parents/carers to understand the target behaviour, and to understand how they might apply the behaviour across different contexts. The videos may be used with parents/carers across multiple sessions, or practitioners may choose to share a couple of them with parents/carers in one session to support understanding.
Each Super Communicator tip and video page is linked here below.
1. Getting down to your child's level
2. Following your child's lead
3. Describing what's happening
4. Pausing and waiting for your child
5. Listening, watching and responding
6. Adding words to build sentences
9. Having fun and using an interesting voice
