Project Description:
The project aims to create an intelligent system to automate the monitoring and controlling of electric machines and improve quality control by predicting issues before they occur. Currently, a machine operator needs to monitor their machine during its operation, if this task was automated, then this time could be spent operating other electric machines or programming and queuing subsequent jobs. In effect it would transform production jobs into more advanced and more technical jobs. The impact for businesses is that higher production rates and lower costs can be achieved, as well as faster turnaround, which would allow for domestic electric machining to be a more viable manufacturing solution than traditional offshore manufacturing approaches, which would allow for faster prototyping and manufacture of technologies related to electric propulsion.
