Patient and Public Involvement

A patient and public involvement (PPI) group has been involved in the design and planning of the trial from the start.

Our patients have told us that they are more likely to trust research where patients have been involved in the running of the study. We have two people within our research team to fulfil this role, who contribute to the monitoring of trial progress and conduct.

The ongoing role of the PPI group will be to provide specialist advice on recruitment, advising the team about trial procedures to make sure they are acceptable and helping researchers communicate better with participants. Later on in the study, the PPI team will help make sure the study findings are communicated to the right people in the right way.
