Sofia is the co-investogator for CONEXS as well as the Science Group Leader for Spectroscopy at Diamond Light Source. At Diamond, Sofia is responsible for 4 X-ray spectroscopy beamlines and a team of 19 permanent scientific and technical staff, 3 PDRAs and 3 PhD students.

Prior to this, SDM was the Principal Beamline Scientist of the Versatile X-ray Spectroscopy beamline at Diamond, I20, responsible for the design and construction of the beamline and subsequently for managing its operation.
