CCP4 Study weekend 2020

Dr Martyna Pastok, Dr Marco Salamina, Dr Jessica Watt, Dr Shannon Turbeville and Ian Hope participated in the “Model building and beyond” 2020 CCP4 study weekend hosted by Nottingham University and organised by Dr Jon Agirre (University of York), Dr Robbie Joosten (Netherlands Cancer Institute) and Dr Alan Roseman (University of Manchester).

The CCP4 Study Weekend illustration competition, made possible by CCP4’s long standing collaboration with IUCr Journals took place for the first time. 

The competition was won by Marco Salamina's illustration named “Structural Biology - The lost structure“. The creative work shows how solving a new structure is like an adventure, full of riddles and traps. The easier path never shows up the most amazing view of a landscape, like a revelation to human eyes for the first time.
