"Sensing and responding to changes in oxygen availability at the cellular level"
Dr Rocha's research is focused on the molecular mechanisms controlling the sensing and responses to oxygen availability of cells, with particular emphasis on cancer. Her group have been investigating how these mechanisms interface with other important stress responses such as inflammation, but also how oxygen sensing is transmitted to other cellular processes such as chromatin dynamics and the cell cycle.
