Global Entrepreneurship Week 2020 16-20 November

We are delighted to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week and in particular the fantastic entrepreneurs and businesses we are lucky enough to work with. This year, Global Entrepreneurship Week is celebrating four distinct themes: Education, Ecosystems, Inclusion and Policy. Now more than ever, Newcastle University Business School is committed to advancing equality, diversity and inclusion in our community.

The full extent of Covid-19 is still unfolding and the latest national lockdown will add increasing pressure to business owners. The Captured programme has supported regional micro-businesses through sharing knowledge, connecting with mentors and developing a mutually beneficial ecosystem to support collaboration and to build resilience.

Captured Programme lead, Fiona Whitehurst, has been working with some of the Captured alumni businesses to find out how they have adapted their businesses to cope with the constantly evolving situation with the pandemic and how many of them have thrived in this uncertain climate.

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day

Thursday 19th November is Women’s Entrepreneurship Day. Our friends over at Women In Sustainability (Newcastle Hub) has recorded a series of virtual conversations with inspirational women sustainability entrepreneurs who have followed their passion and purpose whilst adapting their business in the midst of a global pandemic. Listen to their stories here!

Join their next event on The Role of Sustainability in Economic Recovery on 9th December with the North East LEP, North East England Nature Partnership and Imvelo to discuss how an economic recovery can be both sustainable and inclusive.
