Advanced Epidemiology and Modelling Course, Izmir

Kuşadası, Izmir, Turkey
September 22-26 2014

This workshop was hosted by the Turkish partner Dokuz Eylül University.  The first 3 days of the course focused on epidemiologic concepts including study designs, confounding, interaction, logistic regression, Poisson regression, proportional hazards model and multilevel analysis.  Facilitators were Gül Ergör, Kath Bennett, Fiona Pearson and Belgin Ünal.

The last 2 days focused on health policy modelling methods, including health economic modelling techniques and Markov Models.  The IMPACT Model was used as a modelling exercise.  Facilitators for this were Julia Critchley, Kath Bennett, Maria Guzman and Kaan Sözmen.

A half day tour of Ephesus and Şirince and a gala dinner were also organised during the course.
