Momodou graduated from the University of Ghana Medical School in March 2006 (UGMS Class of 2005) and did his junior and senior housemanship at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and Tema General Hospital respectively. He started his career as a medical officer with the Christain Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) in June 2008 at the then Comboni Polyclinic in Sogakope, South Tongu (later upgraded to Comboni Hospital, now called Richard Novati Catholic Hospital). Momodou worked as the Medical Superintendent of the hospital from June 2008 to December 2016 and was a member of the South Tongu District Health Management Team, the Diocesan Health Council and the Regional Health Management Team.
In this role, Momodou's areas of focus included capacity building in district practice (skills and diagnostics), clinical governance, community-based care systems (including empanelment), quality improvement, Infection-prevention and control, Parkinson’s disease, maternal and child health and peer review of health systems.
In 2015 he started his MPH and completed it in 2017 at the Ensign College of Public Health. After completing his MPH, Momodou acted as the Medical Director of the St. Anne’s Clinic (now a Polyclinic) in Tagadzi (North Tongu) From October 2017 to July 2019 before returning to the Richard Novati Catholic Hospital.
He is currently a resident at the Faculty of Public Health of the Ghana College of Physicians, and also the Executive Director of Medlook Ghana Health Care, a not-for-profit public health organization which collaborates with Compassion International to screen and care for over 6000 children annually in the Volta, Greater Accra and Eastern regions of Ghana.
