Dr Matthew Breckons

Matt is a mixed-methods researcher with a strong qualitative background.

He started working at the Population Health Sciences Institute in 2012 on the DEEP Study: Developing Effective and Efficient care pathways for patients with persistent pain. He has previously worked for the Macmillan Survivorship Research Group at the University of Southampton and in the Faculty of Health & Human Sciences at Plymouth University.

He currently works with the Health Economics Research Group at Newcastle University and is involved with several studies including preference elicitation work (time-trade off and standard gamble) and the development of patient-reported outcome measures (PROM).
