Walking Football

Under the leadership of Parkinson's Africa CEO, Tania Park, a successful walking football tournament was held in Lagos in June 2023. The event brought together people living with Parkinson's disease and the general community. As well as walking football, there were talks and discussions about PD and an opportunity to talk about living with the condition.

"Walking Football and the Parkinson's Disease Tournament and Project are crucial to our community engagement and involvement efforts as part of the TraPCAf project because they provide Africans affected by Parkinson's Disease with a platform to lead and share their experiences and needs. It encourages individuals to form support groups through natural mechanisms, all while having fun and staying physically fit."

"We want to replicate this project and awareness sport activities at all CEI sites and in the 7 African nations we work in."
