TraPCAf Launch Parkinson's Prevalence Study in Ghana

The 25th of July 2024 was the official launch date of the Parkinson's prevalence study in the South Tongu district of Ghana.

The launch was done in a community called Fievie, part of the immediate catchment area of Novati Hospital.

In attendance were:

  1. Novati Hospital Management Team.
  2. TraPCAf team from Novati Hospital
  3. The chiefs and opinion leaders of Fievie. 
  4. The District Director of Health Services (Rep of the Regional Director and Minister of Health in the district).
  5. Local Assembly representatives

This was an official ceremony to mark the beginning of the study - work has been going on for the past few weeks.

The ceremony was marked by solidarity messages for TraPCAf from community leaders and the traditional pouring of libation.

The team are scheduled to complete 6 health zones (out of 40 in the district) in the coming weeks.
