Seminar Highlights Collaborative Advancements in Parkinson’s Disease Research

As part of the MDS Center-Center Programme, Dr Momodou Cham visited the Neurological Institute Carlo Besta in Milan. Momodou delivered a seminar on a number of topics, including the TraPCAf and mucuna pruriens projects.

The seminar provided an opportunity to showcase how different aspects of Parkinson's disease (PD) care and research are interconnected. The discussions spanned the journey from identifying people with PD through prevalence studies and recruiting participants into genetic and environmental research, to exploring new treatment options through future clinical trials and creating greater awareness and safe spaces for people living with PD.

Together, these activities reflect the work that TraPCAf, and its members individually, have undertaken across different countries over the past three decades. The visit to Milan highlighted the value of bringing these experiences together, strengthening international partnerships and connecting research with the needs of people living with PD.
